Resveratrol
Polyphenol found in red grape skin and red wine. Activates sirtuins (SIRT1) and AMPK. Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and potential anti-aging effects.
💡 Absorption: The trans-resveratrol form is the active one. Very low bioavailability (<1%). Micronized or liposomal forms improve absorption.
⚠️ Caution: May interact with anticoagulants and medications metabolized by CYP450. Weak estrogenic effect: caution in hormone-dependent cancers.
Interactions with other supplements
NMN raises NAD+ and resveratrol activates sirtuins that use NAD+. Synergy popularized by David Sinclair.
